Traditionally, the transport of baseband signals beyond the studios has been handled by fiber. As the industry moves to IP, the requirement for high data-rate transporting will only continue to grow, with more and more signals of ever higher quality (4K/8K, HDR, HFR, etc.) needing to be carried between locations.
