Nevion marks 20 years of leading IP innovation at BroadcastAsia 2016
Oslo, Norway, 12 May 2016 – Nevion, award-winning provider of virtual media production infrastructure, will be celebrating its landmark 20th year in business at BroadcastAsia 2016 by showing how broadcasters can move incrementally and cost-effectively from baseband to IP and onto virtualization using leading-edge, standards-based equipment deployed in a software defined network (SDN).
BroadcastAsia 2016, the 21st International Digital Multimedia & Entertainment Technology Exhibition & Conference, will take place between 31 May – 3 June 2016 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
At the event Nevion will be showcasing IP solutions for live production, in the studios, the campuses and beyond through contribution, based on open industry standards including SMPTE 2022-6 and TR-03 endorsed by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) organization.
Nevion will also be outlining its vision of a virtualized media production, demonstrating how its orchestration software, VideoIPath and flagship products like the NX4600 H.264/AVC media gateway are stepping stones in the journey towards fulfilling that vision.
Geir Bryn-Jensen, CEO, Nevion said: “As the industry moves towards IP in media production, every broadcaster and service provider inevitably wants to implement the best solutions for their business now and in the future.
“One of the key themes at BroadcastAsia is integrating technologies, so the event provides the perfect platform for us to demonstrate how broadcasters can take advantage of our solutions and make the transition towards IP in a smooth, timely and financially viable way. We’ve had two decades in the business and we’re really looking forward to showcasing our latest innovations to the thousands of visitors attending the event.”
As part of its “20 years of innovation” celebrations, Nevion is holding a special anniversary event during BroadcastAsia 2016, at The Fullerton Hotel on Wednesday 1 June at 7pm. The event will see former EVS CTO Michel De Wolf discuss the latest on the LiveIP project, the world’s first full IP broadcast studio and live remote production, hosted by Belgium broadcaster VRT.
Visitors to BroadcastAsia 2016 will also be given the opportunity to hear Nevion’s Chief Strategy Officer, Janne T Morstøl, talk about “Virtualisation: Planning and Designing the IP Broadcast Facility” on May 31, at 5:30pm, as part of the “Broadcast engineering and technology” stream.
