Nevion MOXELA
Software‑based media processing platform
Software‑based media processing platform
MOXELA is Nevion’s next‑generation, software‑based media processing platform for live-production and contribution workflows. Cloud‑native and infrastructure‑independent, it runs on COTS and cloud environments. MOXELA integrates natively with VideoIPath media orchestration platform as part of Sony and Nevion’s Networked Live ecosystem.
Based on existing and emerging industry standards and built according to the latest software development principles, MOXELA is designed to provide exceptionally flexible and scalable media processing, transcoding and transport.
Deploy media processing on COTS hardware or in the cloud, with full freedom to choose the infrastructure that best fits your operational needs.
Build workflows using open media functions designed to work with existing and emerging industry standards, avoiding vendor lock-in.
Simplify end-to-end workflows through tight integration with VideoIPath for orchestration, virtualization, and monitoring.
MOXELA is built around modular media functions that can be combined to create high‑quality, low‑latency applications for live video, audio, and data processing across a wide range of production use cases.
The platform is designed from the ground up to be open and interoperable, supporting key industry standards such as “SMPTE ST 2110” and “NDI”, as well as the “MediaExchange Layer (MXL)” for real‑time, in‑memory exchange of uncompressed media and metadata between software applications.
Through tight integration with VideoIPath, MOXELA enables unified control, orchestration, virtualization, and monitoring of media applications and systems, including equipment from Sony and third‑party suppliers, across both on‑prem and cloud environments.
MOXELA is built using cloud‑native principles and supports containerized deployment on COTS servers, private clouds, or public cloud platforms, allowing media organizations to design agile, scalable workflows aligned with modern software development practices and industry initiatives such as the EBU Digital Media Facility (DMF).
