Nevion announces Providius NVRT integration with eMerge switches for expanded broadcast network observability

eMerge telemetry and VideoIPath service data now feed directly into Providius NVRT for unified IP broadcast visibility
Oslo, Norway, October 6, 2026 – Nevion, a Sony Group Company, itoday announced that Providius has added native support for the eMerge IP media fabric to its Network Visualization & Real-Time Telemetry (NVRT) platform. The integration enables live eMerge switch telemetry and VideoIPath service data to be displayed directly in NVRT, giving broadcast and media organizations a more unified view of how their IP infrastructure supports the real-time media services running across it.
As a key component of Sony’s Networked Live ecosystem, eMerge is engineered specifically for broadcast LAN and WAN applications and pre-integrated with the VideoIPath media orchestration platform. The family of switches helps customers build reliable, software-defined media networks that combine the deterministic control required for professional live production with the flexibility and scalability of IP.
With the Providius NVRT integration, eMerge becomes visible within a broader operational assurance environment designed for all-IP and hybrid IP/SDI broadcast networks. Engineering and operations teams can visualize route paths across the switching fabric, validate expected routes, identify unexpected paths and isolate routing issues more quickly. By drawing flow labels from VideoIPath, NVRT also enables operators to follow meaningful service names rather than relying only on IP addresses when investigating active media flows.
The integration also adds real-time PTP visibility and detailed interface statistics from eMerge switches, including bandwidth utilization, port activity, errors and other key performance indicators. This additional context helps operators identify congestion, timing conditions, interface problems or abnormal network behaviour before they affect mission-critical live production workflows.
“As live production continues to move towards more IP-based, software-defined and distributed workflows, customers need operational tools that bring together network, service and timing information in a way that is meaningful for broadcast teams,” said Cezary Cieslewski, Product Manager, eMerge at Nevion. “The integration of eMerge and VideoIPath data into Providius NVRT is a strong example of how open, interoperable systems can give customers deeper visibility into their media networks.”
“As broadcast networks become more software-defined and interconnected, operators need to understand not only what the network is doing, but how it is supporting the media services running across it,” said Jamie Horner, SVP of Corporate Strategy at Providius. “By integrating eMerge and VideoIPath directly into NVRT, we can bring together switching, routing, PTP and service-aware flow information in a single operational view. That gives teams the context and evidence they need to validate performance, trace named media services across the network and isolate problems faster.”
